A Girl and Her Whale

This illustration depicts an Inuit legend, in which two sisters refused to marry, so their family paired them with an eagle and a whale. The rest of their story tells of their attempts to return to their family.

This piece is how I imagine the girl and the whale were able to meet, in open water, among the ice.

This was created using ink, watercolor, and Adobe Photoshop
