Two very Hungry mice
The mice were out exploring the meadow all afternoon and their tummies were beginning to rumble.
“We must look for a snack” said one of the mice.
They began to sniff the sweet air when they got a whiff of berry. They followed their noses until they stumbled upon a blackberry patch. The patch hadn’t yet been found by the birds or other meadow creatures, so there was quite an abundance.
One of the mice started to climb a branch and their weight tilted it down enough so the other could just reach the plumpest, ripest berry at the end of the branch.
The mice ate and ate berries until their stomach were full and their paws and mouths were stained purple from the juice.
They lay in the shade of the berry brambles and fell asleep only to dream about berries.
