Poppy the Puffin: Plastic Free Land and Sea

Poppy the Puffin: Plastic Free Land and Sea is a mini graphic novel educational tool to help support the teaching of the harmful effects of plastic waste and the importance of sustainable alternatives.

This initiative has been made possible through the generous support of several nonprofit organizations committed to environmental education, including the Plastic Pollution Coalition, Audubon Society, Plastic Free National Parks, Cafeteria Culture, 5Gyres and Pepperdine University.

This was such a fun and challenging project to work on. I have always wanted to work on a book that spreads awareness about environmental issues and to be able to do it in this format was really special. I have never done a comic or graphic novel before so this was such a good exercise in breaking me out of my comfort zone. I’m so proud of how it came out and I hope it spreads awareness about the dangers of microplastics.
